MSI installation problem

Although you posted this ages ago, as you've had no reply...

This often occurs when you attempt to (un)install an application that has previously been installed by another user.

If you look in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData" you will find a key with the SID of each user that has installed software. If you browse through the Products key below each of these, you can determine who installed what.

An easy way to resolve a SID back to a user is to look in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList"

I also recommend that you ask the Software Vendor about that problem, as he might has a problem with his installer ;)
