lose C$ share for no apparent reason

I am running Windows Server 2000 on my server. For no reason, that I can tell, I lose the share on the C: drive. A few weeks ago I had a virus and it has been removed. Since then it has been acting up. Any ideas?

If the share was removed, kindly create a new Share with the name C$ and allow only Administrators to access it.
