A good idea is to check the data source definitions. As far as I know, this error can also occur if there is data present, but the table structure is invalid. For example, I think, this is the case when you specify a monitorware schema (which is the default setting) but have syslog-ng database schema.

An error after upgrading the Appliance (1.0) to the 3.6.2 src files lead me to this KB entry.

Somewhere under Admin Center, it reported the database had missing fields, but would error when trying to create them.

The solution was to grant rights to the database:
Code: Select all
mysql> grant all privileges on Syslog.* to phplogcon@localhost identified by 'appliance' with grant option;

Hi guys,

I've just installed the product but I've realized that syslog-ng has a different table structure from rsyslog. See structure below:

Column Type Collation
ID int(10)
CustomerID bigint(20)
ReceivedAt datetime
DeviceReportedTime datetime
Facility smallint(6)
Priority smallint(6)
FromHost varchar(60)
Message text
NTSeverity int(11)
Importance int(11)
EventSource varchar(60)
EventUser varchar(60)
EventCategory int(11)
EventID int(11)
EventBinaryData text
MaxAvailable int(11)
CurrUsage int(11)
MinUsage int(11)
MaxUsage int(11)
InfoUnitID int(11)
SysLogTag varchar(60)
EventLogType varchar(60)
GenericFileName varchar(60)
SystemID int(11)

Is there any plugin to make it compatible? If not I will create a view in the DB... but if there is a clean solution I would prefer :-)

Thanks,
Dario

About the KnowledgeBase Event Repository

This is a repository of known Windows Events, hopefully together with a description of what it means, when it appears and how to troubleshoot it. The event repository was initially provided as a tool for parser creation but has since evolved. It is now part of the overall knowledgebase in the hope that it provides a useful service to the community. Please add your comments and questions (which we try to answer), as this increases the event repository usefulness for all of us.
