    Full Description:
    Pickup Directory Status Report.
Issued periodically by NNTP Service. We know no way to disable the generation of this event.

If you would like to NOT see it, filter it in the analyser or agent reporting.

    Sample Data:
Pickup Directory Status Report. In the last 60 minutes, the pickup directory for virtual server 1 has successfully received 0 articles.
    More Informations:

This occurs when NNTP is installed and running, but not actively performing any function though its merely not configured, the server seems to think there might be a problem. If youre not actually using this service at present, you might disable it or uninstall it to prevent all those system log entries. NNTP is required during Exchange 2000 setup or uinstall. I recommend disabling the service and not uninstalling it.

About the KnowledgeBase Event Repository

This is a repository of known Windows Events, hopefully together with a description of what it means, when it appears and how to troubleshoot it. The event repository was initially provided as a tool for parser creation but has since evolved. It is now part of the overall knowledgebase in the hope that it provides a useful service to the community. Please add your comments and questions (which we try to answer), as this increases the event repository usefulness for all of us.
