Hi,
I use win XP - client and WIN 2000 server and the PC tell this error.

Source: Userenv
Category: None
Type: Error
Event ID: 1053
Description:
Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. (No mapping between account names and security IDs was done). Group Policy processing aborted.

I don't know what that means. We using DNS on the server 2000 and the user name is without wrong symbols.

Thanks MIchal.

1. Make sure that your internal DNS server is the server for the domain you are logging in to.
2. Verify the DNS Settings. This will occur if your DNS server is unable to resolve information about your domain.
3. Delete the problem computer from DNS records and re-create it.
