Ghost error w/Winxp image

Postby snk188 on Tue Mar 04, 2003 10:41 pm

I'm getting an error when I sysprep a machine and try to install the image on a different computer. Can anyone help?

It blue screens when it first boots up (after the image is copied to the new hard drive), and gives a Stop:0x0000007B error. I have tried many of the fixes out there and none of them seem to work.

Is the hardware (specially the disk controller) different between both machines?

Yes some of the hardware is different. The machine are pIII's ranging from 450 to 800 mhz. Different MB but all have the via chipset. Video cards differ from machine to machine but there are only 3 types. Everything that I have read says that that shouldn't matter as long as the machines are all IDE or all SCSI. BUt that would not be the 1st time I read bad info.

I researched the web for that error, and the following link explains why you get this STOP error: http://appdeploy.com/tips/bootdevice.shtml
