EVENTID 12052 POP3

Postby eh on Sat Apr 10, 2004 2:47 am

Correction 12052, not 12050 (eventid)!

Can anyone help me make sense of this in the applications event log?

"POP3: An error occurred during a POP3 transaction to host <hostname>. For user <administrator@hostname.com>. The error is 10060"

We are not receiving emails (exchange related) and I assume this is related to that problem. Everything seemed OK then suddenly no email.

Help.

Same root problem as In the other event. ;)
The connection timed out, so this is a following error.

Time out issues can be caused by many things. Bad Internet connection, something on the server (look through all your events), a problem with AV software like a corrupted definitions or a damaged file in the mail cue.

Clients may have a damaged file or AV or other tasks may slow an older computer. Dialup connections suffer from this problem.

I went in and got rid of the forwarders in DNS and then shut down and restarted the default POP3 virtual server and BAM!!! it fixed that error.
Hope this helps
