Event 213 - Replication of license information failed

Postby MKelly on Wed Mar 10, 2004 4:26 pm

Replication of license information failed because the License Logging Service on server xxxxxx could not be contacted.

The server inquestion is no longer operating and I want to stop calls to it.

All the docs I found so far say to either check the target server (not possible) or to turn off the LLS on the server starting this process. I dont want to stop this service due to it being located on my PDC in an AD config and I want to know when real problems happen.

Anyone know how to edit anything to tell this comp to stop going to this mythical computer?

Thanks for your time.

Forgot to mention, the server is Windows 2003 Enterprise server.

Found solution:

To resolve this problem:

1. Open Active Directory Sites and Services.

2. Select the site on which the computer is located.

3. Select Licensing Site Settings in the right-hand pane.

4. Press Properties on the Action menu.

5. Under Licensing Computer, Change the licensing server for the site.
