Error on Event ID = 11153

The system failed to register network adapter with settings:

Adapter Name : {61976557-4C8F-4F63-95DE-6B385297FF5E}
Host Name : faxcore
Adapter-specific Domain Suffix : local.com
DNS server list :
203.121.16.120, 203.121.16.85
Sent update to server : 66.28.32.88
IP Address(es) :
192.168.0.5

The reason it could not register was because the DNS server refused the dynamic update request. This could happen for the following reasons: (a) current DNS update policies do not allow this computer to update the DNS domain name configured for this adapter, or (b) the authoritative DNS server for this DNS domain name does not support the DNS dynamic update protocol.

To register a DNS host (A) resource record using the specific DNS domain name for this adapter, contact your DNS server or network systems administrator.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Yes, what you could do is to call Microsoft, they will probaply tell you to reinstall windows too!!! :)

Just kidding. I do have the same problem, and i try to search google engine, and i ran into your message.

Thanks

To stop that error message:

goto network settings
properties
IP (TCP/IP) properties
Advanced button
DNS tab
uncheck register this connection's address in DNS

Basicially you do not have a windows DNS server that it wants to regester with

Check your DNS entries. The machine may be register already with an incorrect IP. Delete the bad entry from DNS then make a change to the network settings so that the machine registers again with DNS. The error should be gone.
