Compiled version of rsyslog for RHEL3.0

Postby tdev » Thu Nov 20, 2008 4:29 pm

Hi,

I'm trying to install rsyslog (we require the PRI information in syslog for monitoring) but my problem is that the machines in our production environment are running RHEL3.0 with no compiler (requirement). I did find some RPM's which also won't work without upgrading libraries (libc.so.6, glibc) and getting into a sticky recursive dependency situation. I'm not the uber unix guy, so I was wondering if there is a compiled version of rsyslog around that I could install on these production machines that don't have a compiler. Or if there are other options I'm open..

Thanks,
Tim

Check your yum repositories. If it's not there, you're going to need to either do some Google searching or build your own. I don't think there's many people working on 3.0 any more.
