So I am fairly new to this line of products, and I am working on creating a centralized logging server. Everything is working exactly as it should for the time being, but one of the requirements for this project is to have the ability to forward log files to the central server from lesser known applications. That is to say that we have an Argosoft Email server, and I need to forward its logs to my central syslog server in a meaningful way (so I can tell its different from any other log file). Like I said I am new at this, and don't really know where to go at this point. Can anyone lend me a hand?

MonitorWare is very powerful in such things. It has a very powerful filter engine which you can use detect from which source you logfiles came.
If you are using SETP to forward Events, all properties of a File Monitor can be accessed on the remote side. You can for example use the "Syslog Tag Value" in the FileMonitor, and set it to "Argosoft Email Server". Then on the receiver side you can filter by the "Syslogtag" property. Or if you write into another logfile, you can include the syslogtag into the filename of the logfile and seperate your logs in this way.
